Robert Schumann (Robert Alexander Schumann,1810-1856) is a pianist, composer and musical critic. Schumann played an important role in the music world In Germany in the First half of nineteenth Century. He was referred as the poet musician of romanticism. Abegg Variations Op.1 was Schumann’s first piano work and was published in 1831. Schumann’s music is full of romantic fantasy. He liked to hide some musical games in his works and make some riddles that only those who know his work can understand. This composition is Schumann’s first work that revealed metaphors and variations.This article consists of five parts, analyzing Abegg Variations Op.1. It aims at exploring the connotation and style of the works and helps complete the performance better with combining development, Combined with the domestic development situation and different research methods. Schumann gave up law and encountered beautiful girl Abegel by chance and then created this work. Chapter three is the combination of the Abegg Variations Op.1. this piece harmony color and structure of works on every part of the works one by one analysis. The fourth movement is based on our own performance, respectively from the touch keys, speed, rhythm and pedal playing, summed up the experience on this piece of playing skills experience. In this chapter, a further analysis of the work of music style and performance skills. It is difficult to totally master Schumann’s piano work. We hope for a better showing this piece to lay the foundation through this research.
