The Analysis On Localization Of The Ecological Citizenship

With the growing global ecological crisis, ecological citizenship has been as a kind of ecological consciousness and ecological virtue as action criterion, a new type of citizen consciousness in ecological practice emerges at the right moment. It has great significance that "Ecological citizenship" is put forward and implemented to save the earth’s ecological environment and promote the construction of ecological civilization in our country. But there has its limitations for ecological citizens theory which originated from the west, nor in line with China’s national conditions, cannot be copied. In other words, the localization of cultivating ecological citizens starts from China’s actual national conditions, draw lessons from the reasonable elements of western ecological civil theory, and find local thought resources which can be fit with the western citizenship theory as the basis. Confucian virtues has been as a dominant position of Ethics in China’s cultural tradition, which virtue theory ecological wisdom starts from moral ontology with harmony between man and nature, a combined virtue of heaven and man, advocates ecological wisdom of harmony between man and nature, love of all people and all things and ecological virtues of fully growing self and substance, joining in nature. It can act either as a docking with the western ecological citizens theory of local resources, also can overcome the limitations of western ecological civil theory. Localization of cultivating ecological citizens need to draw on the basis of eco-citizen theory, combine with the Confucian virtue of Ecological Wisdom ecological culture of citizens, and find ecological philosophy and contemporary ecological citizens breeding methods to adapt to the ecological status of China’s needs.
