Research On Folk Activity About "Yan Ma Bi" From Pindding County In Shanxi Province

"YAN MA BI" is an unique folk activity, which was popular in Shanxi Province Yangquan City Pingding area. It was not only the local Ceremony of Rain Praying culture with thousands years of history, but also the most unique and rare variety of Nuo culture in the north. However, the folk activities, which carried the ancient civilization, were experienced great declines and even tended to disappear in an embarrassing situation. Since the reform and opening up, the wave of protecting the intangible heritage has been high. The folk activity of "YAN MA BI" was also involved in the wave, and making it possible to return to the public review under the relevant departments of organization to carry out the rescue and excavate. However, facing the decades of fault, which was caused by social unrest, and the society to modernization with the amazing speed of development, how the folk activity of "YAN MA BI" would integrate into the public life with a new attitude in the new area, and how to inherit and develop it were still facing a severe challenge. In the face of such an embarrassing situation, the author would carry out research on it in the way of written record. On the one hand, this could save precious folk heritage, on the other hand, the author hoped to attract the attention of the relevant academia. Therefore, this paper would research on the folk activity of "YAN MA BI" in Shanxi Province Yangquan City Pingding County mainly in the view of folklore culture subject, combined with the relevant research theories and methods of sociology and anthropology, and adopted the research methods of field research. And would detailedly, systematically, roundly and deeply analyze and explain the problems of its origin and the problems occurred in the evolution process such as its mode, basic form of expression, functional characteristics, cultural connotation, conditions of inheritance and changes, in the view of folklore culture subject, when placed it into the historical, geographical and cultural background, through the inner comprehensive relations includes the restriction, the promotion and so on. And at last, put forward some relevant suggestions on how to inherit and protect it on the basis of completing the theories.
