August 2010, Japanese lost two animation masters, one is Satoshi Kon, another is Kawamoto Kihachiro. The research on Satoshi Kon has quite a lot, but few researchers pay attention to Kawamoto Kihachiro. He is not only in the field of animation achievements and the communication aspects of Japanese animation has made a great contribution.He is one of Japan’s most famous modern artists. His masterpiece, "the temple", "the day of winter", "the book of the dead", and so on, many times in the International Animation Festival, and personal style, very attractive. This paper takes Kawamoto Kihachiro’s even animation as the main research object. His even animated work gives the audience a strange feeling:dark and dreary, obscure, but impressive, full of life. Let his works of this paper focuses on the problem, in the beginning part focuses on the analysis of the reasons for the formation of his puppet animation art style; next to contemporary mainstream animation in Japan as a reference, summarized the main features of his puppet animation works, mainly from the choice of subject matter, the framework of the story, the role of shaping the three aspects, points out its obscure works; and key works from the audio-visual language point of view Kawamoto Kihachiro puppet animation analysis explains the impressive appearance characteristics, and finally concludes his film’s mental characteristics, religious factors of the implants made his works enduring the essential reason.
