The Research In The New Period (1978-2010) Of Chinese Minority Films

The new period (1978-2010) Chinese minority films play an important part of Chinese film, which shows the diversity of Chinese film. Chinese minority films are significant windows to the world.This study divides 30-year-old Chinese minority films into three stages and overview the background of each stage comprehensively,including at the beginning of the reform and opening-up (1978-1990), the transition period (1991-2000) and the new century (2001-2010). In general, this study points out that Chinese minority films transform from expressing the image features to focusing on the expression of the pure and simple soul of minority culture.This paper, from the perspective of Chinese minority theme films, interprets each period film through different film elements, such as image, sound, picture and so on, and analyzes the image features of Chinese minority films which are showed from three aspects-image symbols, content structure and director groups during the past thirty years. In order to research deeply and logically, this study compares and lists each stages by sorting out directors, time, name and different minority. In this study, the writer selects some typical directors from various director groups in the three stages,taking their films as example,compares and analyzes the theme and content, directing style, narrative structure and ethnic elements specificly, which shows image feature of Chinese minority film aesthetic in past the thirty years.Art aesthetic is an advanced and special form of human aesthetic, especially minority films. According to the external image, the national materials, the virtual reality, the original ecology, the language context and the narrative aspects of globalization, this study establishes the artistic aesthetics of minority films. At the same time, this study considers and prospects the development of Chinese minority films.
