The overlapped associative combination is made up of two or more same forms of structure component combinations. From oracle to the current Chinese characters, they are abundant. It is a special kind of Chinese characters, which have strong regularity and characteristics on their form and meaning. It is worth to collect and research.The introduction part clarifies the text and the theory which have been used in the thesis. The thesis take Chinese Dictionary as the research text, and the research object is the overlapped associative combination. Among them, four cases are not analyzed. From the perspective of Chinese character culture, this thesis applies the theory and method of philology, and then combines cultural reference method and induction method to discuss the theme of this thesis.The first chapter mainly analyzes the forms of overlapped associative combinations. From the number of constitutive word arts, they can be divided into two arts, three arts, four arts and five arts of overlapped associative combinations, and then it describes the pattern of manifestation of these four types successively. Firstly, it analyzes their structure and orientation, and finally compared and summarized.The second chapter mainly analyzes ideographic features of overlapped associative combinations. This chapter classifies the meanings of two arts, three arts, four arts and five arts as some ideographic feature. Finally, it compares and summarizes.The third chapter mainly explores the relationship between associative characters and culture, namely the thinking mode of the unity of opposites, the implicit digital culture of repeated components, and stable and symmetrical aesthetic standards. Then it reveals the culture behind overlapped associative combinations.
