From the birth of the movie, it has been closely connected with the development of technology, thus the history of movie is both a history of art and of technology. The emergence of dimensions such as image, sound and the color has performed profound and lasting influence toward the development of movie, and the digital revolution of movie is more overturning. Looking back throughout the history of movie development, it is clear that the emergence of new techonologies would influence the form and ways of creation of the movie, and the technology in line with laws would settle down and be combined into movies. With the fast development of virtual reality technology recently, the encounter of the technology with movies has also been frequent. However, as a new technology, its theoretical research still lags behind, and the future of its combination with movies is also blurred, just as the status of the emergence of the other new technologies before. Therefore, in the angle of movie, the research on virtual reality technology is of great significance on the future form as well as the development of the creation of movies.The article has done a great number of researches on the literature related to movie, virtual reality and immersive experience. Through literature research method, comparative research method and interview method etc., the article focuses on studying the mechanism of the attractiveness of the movie form, basing on the perspectives of theories such as ontology of images, philosophy of technology as well as psychology, meanwhile it focuses on the charateristics of virtual reality itself and analyzes the new features it possibly presents in the field of movie.The author selected several movie technologies, having become mainstream technologies already, from the technology development history of movies. It is found through comparasion that the development of movie technology overall presents a status of satisfying the sensory experience from shallower to deeper, while in this status, virtual reality technology is objectively qualified to provide unified and ultimate sensory experience. The article includes detailed discussion on the immersion, interaction and imagination of virtual reality technology, approaching immersion with the cave theory and expounding it according to ontology of movie to make clear the relationship between immersion and reality, with this reality turning from the objective reality emphasized by Bazin into a logic reality. And in the influence of psychological configuration, the virtual reality movies with more integral information are more likely to make the audience immersive instead of fatigue. Hence, the immersion of virtual reality is inseparable with the essence of movie. Based on the embodied cognition studies on the audience subject, the article found the superiority of creating immersive scenes by virtual reality technology and that the audience with improved cognition need superior sensory experience. The improved cognition of the audience has also caused the fading of Russian montage school from the mainstream of the history. In the study of interaction, the article focuses on comparing another media, video games, and proposes that virtual reality movies ought to present a feature of “light interaction”. The imagination of virtual reality is essentially in line with the spectaclar nature of the movie, out of which virtual reality technology will necessarily produce new spectacles of the movie. Finally, the author analyzed the current virtual reality image-text and made rigorous as well as logic inference toward the narrating concept and the way of production of the future virtual reality movies for the better practices of the movies.Overall, after rigorous research, the article came to a conclusion: the development of virtual reality technology in the field of movie is certainly in line with the law of movie technology development, and its characteristics also accords with the nature of the movie. For deeper experience and wider spectacle narration of the movie, the virtual reality technology is definitely the best choice in the future, while developing new ways of creation and inventing new movie languages to suit the new form are still the major tasks of virtual reality movies from now to the near future.
