A Comparative Study On 《Jian Deng Xin Hua》 And《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》

There are many similarities between《Jian Deng Xin Hua》and《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》, but because of the differences in era, society and the individual, the two works also tend to the differences though we can not deny the similarities. These "similarities" and "differences" are mainly reflect in four aspects: the creative motive,the character image, the artistic skill and the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Qu You and Pu Songlin’s works both have inheritance of predecessor novel elements, innovation, a breakthrough and limitation. Through the comparison of the two systems, we can find the development and evolution of classical Chinese short stories in Ming and Qing Dynasties and find the process of continuous improvement.This paper is divided into four parts, the first part: the comparison of creative motivation between 《Jian Deng Xin Hua》and《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》. This part mainly talk two aspects, on the one hand introduces the author’s political and cultural background and also talk the writer’s life experience, on the other hand details the formation of the author’s psychological and different creative mentality. Qu You and Pu Songlin psychology involved in anti war, love, society, Chinese Imperial Examinations and so on.The works are all based on the history, but the style were not the same. The second part:compare《Jian Deng Xin Hua》and《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》character. This part research is from the image of men and women’s image as the breakthrough point. Through the analysis and comparison of all kinds of characters,finding out the changes about 《Jian Deng Xin Hua》 and《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》characters model which was become multiple from single.For that reason the key point of shaping and the shaping of methods were undergone some changes.The third part: the comparison of Artistic skill about 《Jian Deng Xin Hua》 and 《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》. Mainly from five aspects which are the real and unreal world, inheritance and development, tendency of poetry, narrative rhetoric, language, plot begins, carry on the detailed explanation.Although it’s similar, different also exist especially limitations. The fact is that all of them have further demonstrated the author’s ideasand the creation of novels. The fourth part, the cultural view of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism. Highlights of the author’s religious ideas and works of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism culture phenomenon, We can be seen the cultural view is more abundant and complicated in the《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》.《Jian Deng Xin Hua》and《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》is the same, but they also show different characteristics. At the time, culture of continuous progress and development,《Liao Zhai Zhi Yi》 also completed the breakthrough to the former and beyond in some ways.And the classical novels will also towards the summit in constant transition.
