Objective: Investigate the correlation between genetic variants of CRHR1, CFHBP, FKBP5 in HPA axis(system) and suicide attempts(SA) among youth. Methods: DNA was obtained from bloods of 187 subjects, include 71 young man with SA and 116 healthy young people as control. Six single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)(rs110402, rs7209436, rs3800373, rs1360780, rs10474485, rs7728378) were genotyped with the Improved Multiple Ligase Detection Reaction(i MLDR). Binary logistical regression analyses were performed to evaluate the contribution of individual genetic variants to the prediction of SA. And haplotype analysis was done for each genes.Result: Between cases and controls, there was no statistical difference in genotype distribution and allelic frequencies of six genetic locus(p>0.05). No haplotype showed significant association with SA(p>0.05). Inheritance model analysis, adjusted by history of mental illness, showed significant associations with SA(codominant1 model: C/T(OR=3.53(1.45-8.64), T/T(OR=3.40(1.04-11.14)(p=0.011); dominant model: C/T-T/T(OR=3.51(1.46-8.43),p=0.0026); overdominant model: C/T(OR=2.19(1.08-4.45),p=0.026);log-additive model: C/C,C/T and T/T(OR=1.95(1.12-3.41),p=0.016).Conclusion: CRHBP gene polymorphism may be associated with suicide attempts among youth. Heterozygous allele of rs77283785 may increase the risk of suicide attempts.
