Studies On Dignitaries Of The Eastern Han Dynasty

As the base for establishing the Eastern Han Dynasty, dignitary class has an extremely close connection with the rise and fall of the Eastern Han Dynasty. As an important social class in the Han Dynasty, the dignitary class had exerted an undeniable influence on the development of the history of Han Dynasty. The Western Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han Dynasty, as an important stage of development in Chinese history, had laid a solid foundation and had set a profound style for the latter development of China, such as in the political, economic, cultural, calendar and social structure aspects and so on, which had formed an important connecting link between the preceding and the later. The research of the Eastern Han Dynasty dignitaries helps us to know the essence of many historical problems the Eastern Han Dynasty from different angles.Dignitaries in Han Dynasty have always been a unique social class of individual character under spotlight of historians. This thesis mainly consists of three chapters on the study of dignitaries of the eastern Han Dynasty. The first chapter is an overview of the Dignitaries of the Eastern Han Dynasty, mainly including historical process of the formation and development the Eastern Han Dynasty dignitaries. The second chapter is study of the internal structure of the Eastern Han Dynasty dignitaries, including four groups, namely, consorts, eunuchs, officials and the wealthy landowners with the aim to study the internal structure of the Eastern Han Dynasty dignitaries. The third chapter of the thesis is dignitaries of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han regime. Dignitaries of the Eastern Han Dynasty is divided into central dignitaries who are closely related with the imperial power and the local dignitaries who are in a relatively distant place, and their respective influences on the Eastern Han Dynasty regime are respectively discussed.
