A Dream of Red Mansions is the pinnacle of the classical Chinese fictions, the classicality of the original work offers unlimited possibilities for future generations of Quyi adaptation. From Late Qing Dynasty to the early years of the Republic of China, with the Western lithography techniques imported and the expansion of public readers, there comes an unprecedented prosperity of Chinese popular literature, a large number of Guci novels have emerged. Lithographic version of " A Dream of Red Mansions Guci" is an adaptation and recreation of the novel "Dream of the Red Chamber", is an indispensable script of the study of Guci in the Qing dynasty.This paper takes A Dream of Red Mansions Guci, the edition of Shanghai Xiaojingshanfang in the sixth year of the Republic of China(1917), as the research object, with intensive reading of the original, comb the similarities and differences between Guci and the original novel. Through comparative analysis, draw the conclusion that in the adaptation of the original to Guci, some positive attempts are made in order to being not only loyal to the origin but also inheriting its tragedy connotation, use abbreviations, retention, deletion of subplots and partialy adjustment of the narrative angle and order in its adaptation to the rap and singing Guci style. At the same time make the text more common, colloquial, the characters more civilian oriented, in this way, accommodate the complicated plots and numerous clues of the original work into a new literary form, giving the readers the complete story of "A Dream of Red Mansions Guci", and meet the aesthetic needs of the general public class and their aesthetic taste.The paper is made up of 4 parts.Foreword is a brief introduction of Guci and Guci novel.The second part is an overview of the writer, format, and the libretto system of the Guci "A Dream of Red Mansions Guci".The third part: comparation of "A Dream of Red Mansions Guci" and the original novel, is the main part of this paper. With textual research of the original text, compare Guci and the classic novel from 4 aspects: the chapter titles, the storylines, the characters and the language style.Finally is a brief conclusion that "A Dream of Red Mansions Guci" promote the spread of the original, expanded the influence of the original, also enriched the Guci novel subject.
