A Study Of Chinese Buddhism Ritual

Ritual as a Buddhism ceremony means prayer and confessor for short.It’s recording some Buddhist etiquette.There are lot of ritual in our hand-down document and excavated document.This paper’s research is these Chinese document,and combines the hand-down document with the excavated, then uses the way of lateral induction and vertical comparison to analyze these documents,through this method to study the phenomenon of Buddhism chinization.The topic of Buddhism chinization is often explored by scholars at home and abroad in academia,but study from the point of ritual is minor,so it have some positive meaning for Buddhism in china.This paper consists of three parts.The first part focuses on ritual’s development,including the following two aspects:First of all,describes the history of ritual;Second of all,analysis the development of ritual in china.The second part focuses on ritual’s classification.According to the different of section and object,analyze it’s content,try to find out it’s etiquette,then analysis the developments of ritual.The third part explains the phenomenon of Buddhism chinization by analyzing ritual.According to the changing relationship between Buddhism and Chinese traditional thought and the change of ritual in china to analyze the Buddhism chinization.The phenomenon of the Buddhism chinization is a topic of our scholars continuing research.Ritual’s change from India to China can reflect this phenomenon.So this article explain the Buddhism chinization from China Buddhism ritual.
