The Study Of 4-8 Years-old Chinese High-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders On Own Race Effect Of Faces’ Recognition

On the autism spectrum disorder of face recognition, previous researches are prove that ASD have face recognition disorder. However, the ASD whether have the own-race effect when they processing different racial faces? On this issue, the domestic and foreign researches have been explored, but the conclusions still in dispute. In the previous studies, they processed racial identification information of Caucasians, Yellow, or Black faces, they used alternative forced choice identification method, or used learning recognition paradigm, to identify the different race faces, test for autism spectrum disorders whether they have the racial information processing disorder in face processing.Therefore, based on the previous researches and the reality, this study select the 4 to 8 years old of Chinese high-functioning autism spectrum disorders as subjects, use Chines and Kazakh, Mongolian faces as the native and alien face material, use the behavioral techniques and eye movement techniques, two single factors within subjects experiments have been designed. To explore the 4-8 years old Chinese high-functioning ASD whether difficult to identify the national information of different ethnical faces, they whether have own race effect in face processing and what kind of their eye movement patterns in the face processingUnder the experimental conditions of this study, draws the following conclusion:(1) 4-8 years old Chinese high-functioning ASD have the own race effect in behavioral data. They can process the national information of faces normally.(2)The data of eye-movement show that the 4-8 years old Chinese high-functioning ASD have the similar watch strategy, that is, tend to fixate on the nose area as same as the development people. At the face recognition stage, they have the ORE on the eye area, they also became the experts of processing the nation face,(3) 4-8 years old Chinese high-functioning ASD have the pattern of more mouths, more noses,less eye gaze. When they process the non-national face,they lack the left visual field seriously.The specific performance that they lack the eye in the left visual field.
