Comparative Study Of Marx And Rousseau’s Concept Of Freedom

Throughout history, freedom is not only the common pursuit of the ultimate ideal of mankind, but also the power source for spurring self-development and self-improvement. Affected by globalization and structural change in society, China is undergoing a double free issue by the impact of Western liberalism and the collision of indigenous freedom and necessity. People’s idea of freedom was out of balance. Someone arbitrarily considered the actual situation of social freedom cannot keep up, even cannot meet the growing freedom of concept. The article on this issue, launches a comparative study about freethinking of Rousseau who on behalf of the capitalism and Marx who on behalf of the socialism, confirms Marx’s freedom concept of liberty is advance and scientific. Furthermore, in-depth analysis the theory of democracy which derived from the concept of freedom of Rousseau and Marx,therefore obtain theoretical and practical basis to achieve socialism freedom, and the result that it is socialism can achieve true human freedom.From the main three chapters, the article introduces and launches a brief comparative study of Marx and Rousseau’s concept of freedom. From a historical perspective, throughout the historical development of the concept of freedom, we could divide the development of freedom for abstract and realistic freedom, thereby more accurately from the horizontal and vertical to position Rousseau and Marx’s concept of freedom, clear the both theories of them. Using the concept of analysis,respectively compare and analysis from individual ideal, achievement ways and ideal realm of both freedom. Point Rousseau’s concept of freedom which based on the position of idealism is absolutely abstract, weakness and disembodied. While Marx who advocated the Historical Materialism has transcendental realized human social attributes. Closely related the freedom with the development of human and materialistic society,combined with theory of practice. And then outlined the ultimate vision of human freedom achieved. Finally in-depth analysis the theory of democracy which derived from the concept of freedom of them. Finally indicates the Marx democracy has practical significance to our country’s improvement of socialist system and development of democratic political construction.The innovation points and characteristics of this thesis are shown as follows: through a comparative study of Marx’s and Rousseau’s concept of freedom,find loopholes of Rousseau’s freedom, more clear the superiority of Marx’s freedom and scientific. Issue adjusts today people’s expection and definition of freedom. Better use freedom and democratic theory of Marx to constantly improve the supporting institutional mechanisms.
