At present, with the increasing complexity of the political relations of various countries, scholars begin to study "politics" in full swing.Language is the product of socialization, but also an important means of expression in politics. In order to encourage, deterrent, and prevail the audience, politicians show the position, elaborate political policy, pass will by political speech in public. Politicians tend to concentrate on the main points, clear topic, his political speech has a strong practicality and reality, so it is very important to analyze the speech from comprehensive, multi angle. The research on this kind of political speech, namely "political discourse", is becoming a hot topic in the research field. In 1970 s, Hallidy put forward the theory of systemic functional grammar, which provided a theoretical basis for the discourse analysis, and the interpersonal function theory which is mentioned in the paper has opened up a new direction for the political discourse analysis. Interpersonal function refers to the speaker’s identity, status, attitude, motivation, and the inference of things, it is the interaction between the speaker and the audience, and the speaker’s attitude towards the contents of his speech. In political speeches politicians exert the interpersonal function to extreme to make influence on the audience to reach their own political purposes by exquisite diction and sentence. Therefore, in order to accurately understand and analyze the discourse of politicians, the study of the interpersonal function of political discourse has important guidance and reference.As one of the most influential people in the world, the research on Putin’s political speech is being carried out in different levels. Putin’s political speech has a very strong guidance, and a very important significance to the internal and foreign affairs of Russia, the world political form, the development and evolution of the international political pattern. Based on Hallidy’s theory of interpersonal function, this paper analyzes the political speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin from four perspectives according to the four ways of realizing interpersonal function, and then confirms, analyzes the results and the purpose of the speech, so we can have a more intuitive, clearer understanding about Putin’s speech style, language features.In this paper, we use the statistical analysis method to analyze the words in Putin’s political speeches as the statistical object. The key is to understand the characteristics of President Putin’s speech from the perspectives of interpersonal function, to in-depth understand the meaning behind the words, thus the study of Russian political discourse can be enriched, andcan provide convenience for the accurate reading of Russian political discourse.
