Lv Zhenyu is one of the earliest historian of Marxism in China. His researchinvolved in political history, intellectual history, national history and economic history.He made an outstanding contribution to the creation and development of the ChineseMarxist historians. However, people are not interested in his early thoughts and theyfocus on his thoughts of middle and old age. The author found that he had a lot ofimportant articles in Cun Zhi Monthly and Xin Dongfang in his eraly years. The authorattempted to study Lv Zhenyu’s early thoughts by these articles to get people’sfeedback.The main content of this paper included three points. Firstly, The authorsummrized Lv Zhenyu and Liang Shuming’s rural reconstruction philosophy andanalyzed their different attitudes to Marxism,so we could find difference betweenthem.These differences made Lv Zhenyu finally abandon his ruralreconstruction philosophy and turn to faith in Marxism.Secendly, the authorsummrized the thoughts of Lv Zhenyu in Xin Dongfang and especially therelationship between Marxism and him. The author also reserched other people whohad written articles in Xin Dongfang.Some issues that the Xin Dongfang had involvedin were also cared about by the author.At last,the author found Lv Zhenyu move closerto the Communist Party. He began to abandon the KMT and the Three People’sPrinciples. So,the author focused on reasons that made Lv Zhenyu change his thouhts.These reasons inclued interpersonal circle, domestic politics, culture, environmentand international economictrends.In this paper, the author combined the history of ideas,social history, politicalhistory and economic history to restore Lv Zhenyu’s thoughts in late1920s and early1930s completely and obtained reasons that made Lv Zhenyu become into a Marxist.At last, this paper achieved the desired purpose.
