Criminal level increases continuously with the development of society and frequentinformation exchange after committing. The difficulty of investigation, to a certain degree, can be attributed to intelligentialized and informationalized criminal means, highlyanti-investigative consciousness and irregular crime scenes. However, mental characteristicshidden behind various crimes keep strikingly consistent despite the changeability of criminalmeans. Any criminal psychology undoubtedly will act a force on brain which results inanomaly before and after committing. Anomaly can be interpreted as externalization ofcriminal psychology and more importantly it is a breakthrough for investigators.Deliberating anomaly and identifying and utilizing the means of anomaly playsignificant roles in better investigating crime scenes, cataloging detective clues, locking downcriminal suspects, formulating corresponding strategies and fighting against crimes. Startingfrom the angel of interdisciplinary subjects of law such as Mirco-expression science, kinesicsand linguistics to clarify the contributing factors for anomaly and externalized properties of it,this thesis aims to guide investigation practice and identify and utilize anomaly to crackcriminal cases which help to create a harmonious society. The thesis elaborates related issues about anomaly of criminals in the following fiveparts. The first part is to outline anomaly of criminals. It is widely acknowledged in the domainof investigation that the research on anomaly has a considerably long history to be traced back.In begin with doctrinal definition, this part continues to outline the relevant issues of anomaly, analyze bottleneck from domestic and international cases and finally reveal the greatimportance of researching anomaly in both theoretical and practical sense. The second part illustrates the subjective and objective factors of anomaly of criminals.Specifically speaking, anomaly is basically generated by psychological drive, the degree ofinterpersonal information exchange and the strength of investigation. The third part particularizes the characteristics of anomaly of criminals by studyingnumerous references and extracting contributing factors from the existing academicachievements and further supports identification and utilization of anomaly which are statedlater in this thesis. Anomaly characterizes unification of subjectivity and objectivity, individuality and commonness, relative stability and persistent dynamics, and elusiveness andopenness.Paying close attention to identification and utilization of anomaly of criminals, the fourthpart is the hardcore of the whole thesis. By means of introduction of disciplines such asMirco-expression science, kinesics and behavioristics,“impression management” andtheoretical achievements of “effectiveness evaluation for statement”, it demonstrates how toidentify and utilize anomaly of criminals in four well-arranged aspects which are beforecommitting, during committing, after committing and excluding intervened factorsrespectively. Anomaly reflected on behavior and posture mostly concentrates beforecommitting while that in crime scenes usually reveals when committing, which is followed bythe demonstration of anomaly on expression and mood, language, economy and relatedparties. Then, this part goes to discuss how to exclude intervened factors which result inanomaly and how to identify and utilize anomaly, in combine with classic cases, to have clueswell investigated. The final part lays emphasis on extracting principles which help clarify the matters ofidentifying and utilizing anomaly. The principle of legality and professional ethics are givenpriority followed by breakeven and comprehensive understanding of identifying and utilizinganomaly. What are supposed to be well realized are occasionality of anomaly and differentlevels of criminal suspects which are of equal importance to avoidance of investigativesubjectivity and dependence on methods. Anomaly has great potential to be legalized, supplement proofs, testify mutually with other objective proofs and put into use flexibly.Simultaneously, analysis on particularity and timeliness should not be ignored with, nevertheless, excluding preconceived empiricism, acquisitiveness, unilateral understanding. Thus, it ought to be guaranteed that identification and utilization of anomaly can only beconceived as an access to search for clues and accumulate proofs. The thesis finalizes theemphasis that investigators should be consolidated by professional trainings and furtherfrontline is supposed to be equipped with integrated abilities by constantly innovating andlearning from practice.
