With the advancement of socialist democracy legal system, the news media industryhas rapidly developed, and more and more cases about the News Tort come forth aswell. Therefore, both our study and the court always focus on how to keep a good balancein news freedom and the protection of the rights of personality, especially about thereputation and privacy rights. Setting up the rules of defense is the best way to let the newsmedia industry play its real supervisory function in our society. Through the study ofcomparative law, this paper mainly talks about how to enrich several rules of defenses,such as accuracy of news, public interests, fair comment and party’s agreement and so on.Generally, this thesis and some suggestions are given to solve the problems of the news tortin China.
