After the Second World War, European Powers lose the hegemony completely. TheUnited States and the Soviet Union compete for the world supremacy fiercely, lasting forover40years, which causes the separation between the north and the south Korea Pen..The external factor of Korea Pen.’s division is the fighting for interests between theUnited States and the Soviet Union, whereas the historical origin is the brutal rule byJapan. The two sides of Korea enter into an alliance with other countries and developnuclear power in order to safeguard their security. However, this behaviour acceleratestheir contradiction. As the core of Northeast Asia, Korea Pen. possesses strategicsignificance, whose stability is subject to all forces from the world. Any chance event,changing in leadership or fluctuations in policy will affect this balance.Park Geun-hye is inaugurated as the18th president on February25,2013. The newgovernment changes its hard-line policy over DPRK and makes great efforts to improvethe relationship between DPRK and ROK on the basis of building trust application ofKorea Pen.After the third nuclear test launched by DPRK, the relationship betweenKorea Pen. and Northeast Asia becomes intense. North Korea nuclear issue turns into thefirst major task of the new government. The turbulent situation of Korea Pen. relativelyweakens ROK’s strategic assets, bringing a lot of challenges to its policy over DPRK. Inview of present situation, Park Geun-hye Administration puts forward the new policy of“Korea Pen. Trustpolitik” over DPRK, advancing to regain trust between DPRK andPOK through dialogue and humanitarian assistance. At present,“how to carry forwardKorea Pen. Trustpolitik” is the first major task faced to Park Geun-hye Administration.This essay mainly research the primary content and characters of Park Geun-hyeAdministration’s policy over DPRK based on trust theory. It compares Park Geun-hyeAdministration with previous administration using the method of comparative analysis,analyzes the reasons which lead to Korea Pen. coming to a dead end and studies thedevelopment trend of “Korea Pen. Trustpolitik”.
