Research On The Strengthening Of The Alliance Between South Korea And The United States During The Period Of Park Geun-hye

The establishment of the Korean-American alliance began with the Korean War and was further improved during the Cold War.After the Cold War ended,the alliance entered a drift period and gradually became more and more strengthened after the end of the Cold War.Since the signing of the Korean-US Mutual Defense Treaty,The United States has always regarded the Korea-US alliance as an important axis to maintain its balance in the Asia-Pacific region,while South Korea has always regarded the Korea-US alliance as the basic axis of its diplomatic strategy.During Lee Myung-bak 's administration,the strengthening of the Korea-US alliance became more and more obvious.After Park Geun-hye took office,The strengthening trend of the Korea-US alliance is even greater than that of the Korea-US alliance.The increasingly intensified dynamic of the Korea-US alliance has obviously become a major influence on the changing trend of the geopolitical situation in Northeast Asia.Based on the theory of asymmetric alliance between Korea and America,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the strengthening of the alliance in Park Geun-hye's time.Recalling the history of the formation of the United States Asia-Pacific Alliance,It can be found that the fundamental motivation for the formation of the United States Asia-Pacific Alliance is based on the US strategic interests.The core goal of the United States' global grand strategy is concentrated on preventing emerging countries from dominating the key areas on the edge of the Eurasian continent.To protect the allies under the United States security umbrella and consolidate the political and economic order that the United States is leading.In the context of a more complex situation in Northeast Asia and an increase in potential threats,During his second term in office,Obama launched the Asia-Pacific rebalancing Strategy,which aims to create a "security environment conducive to the United States in Northeast Asia",to prevent the rise of China,to deter North Korea,and to regulate and control it.The strategic goal of South Korea and the strengthening of its alliance with the United States have become an indispensable key link.From the South Korean side,in the context of the "Asia-Pacific rebalancing" of the United States,it is based on alleviating the pressure brought by the rise of neighboring powers and dealing with the growing nuclear threat from the DPRK.Park Geun-hye,who represents conservative political power in South Korea,strengthened the alliance during her term.Two months after Park Geun-hye took office,South Korea and the United States took the 60 th anniversary of the founding of the Korea-US alliance as an opportunity to issue a declaration on the 60 th Korea has been strengthened,and the strategic leadership of the United States in Northeast Asia has been consolidated.By synthesizing the above three chapters,we can see that the most prominent manifestation of the strengthening of the Korea-US alliance is the deployment of "THAAD" into South Korea,in order to cope with the strengthening of the Korea-US alliance,which is marked by the "sad" entry into South Korea.China should carry out policy reflection and strategic counteraction.China needs to effectively developits bilateral relations,actively promote the development of bilateral relations,and build a general stable and balanced development of China-US power relationship framework,and promote the relations between China and South Korea on the right track.To strengthen the multidimensional interaction between China and South Korea,and to promote economic cooperation in Northeast Asia in parallel,China should contribute its wisdom to the promotion of Northeast Asia cooperation.
