The rise of the tea party movement from is the product of the combinationbetween the new conservatism and populist right-wing, to some extent whichrepresents the famous Jackson consensus in American history against contemporaryelite group. In this paper, it studies tea party diplomatic thoughts from the view pointof American exceptionalism, so it firstly introduces the historical evolution and themain content of American exceptionalism, especially its role in the modern Americanforeign policy. The tea party movement set split by Palinite and Paulite influenced bythe two traditions of foreign policy-Jacksonianism and Jeffersonianism, whichrepresent the current U.S. foreign policy point of view-the new conservatism and thenew isolationism, but it is important to emphasize that all of the tea party members onthe foreign relations are vigorously promoting American exceptionalism, and opposeto strengthen the role of international law and international organizations in dealingwith global affairs, and even insist to take unilateral action to maintain America’shegemonic role in the globe. After the mid-term elections in2010, through observingthe tea party political activists in the United States Congress, the new conservatismchiefly characterized by the new interventionism occupy the mainstream on foreignaffairs inside of the tea party, which reflects the Jacksonianism outweighJeffersonianism, and also suggests that the tea party in foreign affairs is no muchdifferent from the typical neoconservative right-wing. The essence of the tea partythought is to ensure that the United States keep its leading position in the internationalrelations and output its democratic values to other countries, and also to be "beacon"of the free world, and consequently the ultimate goal is to maintain the globalsuperpower status of the United States in the world. Tea party are relativelypessimistic and cautious in specific foreign affairs, such as security, economic andtrade relations with China, etc, which reflects its the extreme right-wing conservativeconsensus. After entering an era of increasingly diversified of American society, itremains to be seen about the future fate of the tea party in the United States.
