SincethefoundingofnewChina,People’sDailyhaspublished32editorialsonMay4th,whichareregardedasthesampleoftheideologicalandpoliticaleducationdiscoursefortheyouth.Throughthetextualanalysisofthesampleandsocialcommentonrelevantkeyevents,thispaperaimstodelineatethehistoricalchangeofthediscourseandputforwardsomeconstructivesuggestionsforpresentandfuturesituation.ThispaperarguesthatsincethefoundingofnewChinatheideologicalandpoliticaleducationdiscoursefortheyouthhasexperiencedfourperiods,theconstructivediscourse(1949-1965),therevolutionarydiscourse(1966-1976),theopening-updiscourse(1977-1989),andthenation-orienteddiscourse(1990-2013).Theconstructivediscourseintheearlydaysofchinaisthemostmoderateofall.Duringthistime,motherlandconstructionwastakenasthetheme,inthemeanwhilegivingtheconsiderationtoboththeself-interestandagecharactersofyoungpeople.However,therevolutionarydiscourseduringtheCulturalRevolutionwasmostirrational.Underthethemeofproceedingwiththerevolution,classstruggleandpersonalitycultwereagitated,whilepatriotismwasignoredinthisperiod.Theopening-updiscourseintheearlydaysofReformandOpeningpromoteddemocracy,toleratedcapitalismandpraisedyouth,whichisthemostradicalperiodwitharareopeningcharacter.After1990,thestrategyofthediscoursegaveanimportantchange.IttendedtoreducetheParty-orienteddiscourseandputnationalrejuvenationasthetheme.Thatistheperiodofnation-orienteddiscourse.Thehistoryoftheideologicalandpoliticaleducationdiscoursefortheyouthshowsthat,ingeneral,itisabigdiscoursewithstrongabstractnessandgenerality,neitherdistinguishingitselffromthetopdiscourse,noractingasadiscoursetrans-laterbetweenthetopdiscourseandthebottomdiscourse.Interestistheverypowerofdiscourse.Adiscourseappealstotheyouthonlywhenitisonbehalfofyoungpeople’sinterest.Theideologicalandpoliticaleducationdiscoursefortheyouthshouldfindabalancepointbetweentheparty’sinterestandyoungpeople’sinterest,addingsomeelementsoftheyouth-orienteddiscourseintotheparty-orienteddiscourse.Asforthewaytoexpress,weshouldtaketheadvantagesoftherecessiveeducationaldiscoursestrategyfromtheancienttimeofChina,addingsomereasonableelementsofrecessivediscourseintothedominantdiscoursetorichtheexpressionoftheideologicalandpoliticaleducationdiscoursefortheyouth. |
