Party and the people has high hopes of youth.Reform and opening up30years of development,China has undergone enormous changes,changes in social structure, economy, ideological and cultural values and way of life. With thefurther deepening of globalization, the links among countries have strengthened, and westerncultural values poured into China. All these changes have profoundly affected people’s,especially the young’s, behaviors and ideas, distorting their social conscience. Now part of theyouth indulge in creature comforts, personal extremism and ideological decadence, andworship things foreign and fawn on foreign countries. They have no firm ideals and beliefs,pursue historical nihilism and national nihilism, and have an inferiority complex about Chineseculture. More austere is, the US-led Western countries, have never stopped their penetration,differentiation and westernization toward China’s young people, in the hope of corrupting them.The “Ten Commandments" formulated by the Central Intelligence Agency of the United Statesagainst China fully proves its wild ambition. The negative changes in ideological valuesbrought about by earth-shaking economic and social development as well as western countries’attempt to corrupt our youth make the issue of our youth and youth work crucial. Hence, issuesof the youth and their healthy growth and progress have become a vital project.As our great national hero, Mao Zedong was a great strategist. he always thought thingsover from a broad and long-term perspective. He was a great leader, who always concernedabout the youth and considered the youth issues and youth in the strategic perspective of therevolutionary cause and the revitalization of the nation. As a strategist, when the westernimperialist countries started their ideological and cultural infiltration toward Chinese youth,Mao Zedong shrewdly sensed their ambition and immediately called on us to prevent the ideaof peaceful evolution in a timely manner. Mao Zedong Thought is a great ideological treasure.Based on the current youth studies, the research on Mao Zedong’s Thought on the Youthis of great significance, for it can carry forward the essence of Mao Zedong Thought, andprovide guidance and revelation to the current study of youth issues and youth work,The first half of the dissertation focuses on the research on Mao Zedong’s Thought on theYouth, mainly, its thoughts origin and practice source of its formation, the formation process, and its further development, its main content, its main ideological characteristics andsignificance.It adopts the method of historical analysis to sum up, ananlyze and interpret relevantliterature. On this basis, the dissertation works out the reality enlightenment of Mao Zedong’sThought.This article is divided into four chapters:In Chapter one, the background and the significance and purpose of this study is putforward, and the research angle and possible innovation of this dissertation are alsopresented on the basis of relevant research literature.Chapter II analyzes the formation and development of Mao Zedong’s Thought on Youth.Following this main line, this chapter carries on analysis on the formation, development,maturity and further development of the thought.Chapter III focuses on the analysis and conclusion of the content and characteristics ofMao Zedong’s Thought on Youth. The content includes the standard of good role models foryoung people; the role of youth; youth training and appointment; the requirements of youngpeople; youth work. Its main features are outstanding practicality, distinctive national character;highly strategic.On the foundation of the analysis of Mao Zedong’s Thought on Youth Chapter IV takesMao’s proposal of preventing peaceful evolution as the entry point, takes into account thecurrent undesirable trend in the youth, and analyze the current situations of projects related tothe peaceful evolution" scheme of hostile countries in the West against China and the issue ofhow to win the development of the youth, the country and the nation and proposes suggestionsfavorable for youth issues and youth work.Through the research on Mao Zedong’s Thought on Youth and relevant analysis, thedissertation has finally achieved its purpose of writing: to systematically study Mao Zedong’sThought on Youth, and improve it; to give enlightenment to current youth issues and youthwork.
