Xinjiang, located in China’s northwest border, at the heart of the continent, is atypical temperate continental climate, high altitude, larger temperature differencebetween day and night, long hours of sunshine, this unique climate environment isvery conducive to the growth of fruits, daytime absorption plenty of light to supplynutrients, low nighttime temperatures do not consume vegetation makes itself so fullof nutrients stored in the fruit, so the high quality of crops in Xinjiang, among thehighest yields. If Korla Pear, and nephrite dates, Turpan grapes, Jinghe wolfberrycharacteristics of agricultural household name not only in Xinjiang, but also exportedto other provinces and cities, and even abroad. If geographical indications ofagricultural products for effective protection of Xinjiang, Xinjiang will be able tolargely increase the income level of farmers, to promote economic development inXinjiang, and gradually narrow the gap with the developed cities in Xinjiang,accelerate the pace of urbanization in Xinjiang. So good overall protection ofgeographical indications of agricultural products is very necessary.However, the current legal protection of geographical indications of agriculturalproducts in Xinjiang is still in a preliminary stage level, relevant theoretical basis andpractical systems are not mature enough, causing a lot of problems to be solved.Therefore, in order to play in the Xinjiang Agricultural GIs Xinjiang’s economicdevelopment process of the construction of this should play its role, do improve therelevant legal system, strengthen law enforcement, and do related coordination is veryimportant. The main part of this paper discusses the following four:The first part is an overview of geographical indications for agricultural products.The main research question of this chapter the basic theory of geographicalindications, including the concept and the relevant characteristics of geographicalindications of agricultural products.The second part describes the status of the legal protection of geographicalindications of agricultural products at home and abroad. Studied the protection ofgeographical indications of agricultural products and the relevant international treaties,the status of legal protection of geographical indications abroad, as well as the development process of China’s legal protection of geographical indications ofagricultural products.The third section describes the status of geographical indications of agriculturaldevelopment in Xinjiang. Xinjiang’s own development as some make it uniquegeographical indications of agricultural products with the other provinces do not havethe advantage, but while the other has also become a unique constraints ofgeographical indications of agricultural development in Xinjiang unfavorable factors.Therefore, this chapter describes the current situation in Xinjiang agricultural GIsfrom both advantages and drawbacks.Part IV first expounded Xinjiang protection of geographical indications ofagricultural products is significant, followed by Xinjiang on how to better protectgeographical indications of agricultural products to make some realistic suggestions.Through the first few chapters discuss the concept of geographical indications,characteristics, conservation status at home and abroad, and the status of developmentof Xinjiang GIs carried out, in line with the principle of Xinjiang to promote thecomprehensive development of geographical indications of agricultural products, andpropose solutions to problems, and improve agricultural geography of Xinjiang legalprotection flags, hoping to provide a reference for the Xinjiang regional agriculturaleconomy.
