Analyzing The Protection Of Foreign Chinese People According To The Rock Spring Massacre

Since the1950s，ideas about discrimination and expelling for Chinese people had beenspreading in America, an increasing number of Chinese was insulted and even killed. Particularly,Rock Spring Massacre was one of the most miserable event that happened on September2nd1885. However, they could not acquire a true verdict as both the national jury and some localresidents concealed the criminals completely. Finally, America government made compensationfor them on February24th1887because of unremitting efforts of foreign officials in QingDynasty. According to analyse the whole massacre, I attempt to conclude the reasons why thosepoor people were compensated at that special moment and give some suggestions for presentdiplomatic protection.This essay mainly includes four parts. Firstly, I introduce some essential document literatureabout how to protect Chinese in foreign countries and Rock Spring Massacre. Secondly, theessay mainly analyses five reasons and process of this miserable thing. Thirdly, I analyse theentire process of negotiation between Chinese officials and American government. Finally,conclusion about the factors of this diplomatic success is given and some proper advice isprepared.
