In2008, the global financial crisis brought about a radical change in theregulatory field of the international finance, especially in the making of theregulatory standard of the international finance. Whether it is in theorganizational level or mechanism level, the in-depth reform has beenproceeding. In November of2008, the G20Summit in Washington wasofficially raised up to the level of the leader’s summit from the financeminister’s meeting, also making it the top design organization for theregulatory system of international finance in the post-crisis age. What ismore, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) was also replaced by theFinancial Stability Forum (FSF), which means that FSB will play an evenmore important role in regulating the international finance in the future.Under this huge background, the author has believed that the softinternational finance law, or the regulatory standard of international finance, will exhibit a hardening tendency. This study will help us better understandthe regulatory mechanism of international finance in the post-crisis age andalso look deeper into the feature of soft international finance law. Moreimportantly, the understanding of this hardening tendency will be of greathelp for us to fully engage in designing the international financial standardso as to enhance the financial stability, safety and competitive strength.This paper has consisted of four chapters to analyze the hardeningtendency of the soft international finance law. The first chapter will make astudy of the legal basis of the hardening tendency from the perspective ofnational will, legitimacy and compulsory attribute. The second chapter willanalyze the reflection of the hardening tendency upon some regulatoryorganizations of international finance such as the G20and FSB. Based onthe analysis on the regulatory mechanism of FSB, the third chapter willexplore the hardening tendency of the soft international finance law. Thefourth chapter will be seen as a conclusion.
