Research Of Australia Immigration Policy Towards China After The Dismantlement Of "White Australia Policy"

Currently, the Australian immigration policy towards China mainly absorb skilled immigrants, overseas students and investment-based immigrants, and China has become Australia’s largest source country of invested immigrants, the second largest source country of skilled immigrants as well as the largest source country for international students. The adjustment of immigration policy towards China had a significant impact on Chinese immigrants in Australia and the relationships between China and Australia. On the basis of the development history of immigration policy and analysis of influenced factors, grasping and predicting the Australian immigration policy can not only help immigrants make adequate preparations, but also has advantage of the development of China’s overseas Chinese affairs.The thesis expound it from five parts. Chapter four analyze elements that effect immigration policy towards Chinese. Chapter five analyze the simple forecast of the growing trend of immigration policy towards Chinese based on the adjustments have made after Abbott new government came to power.
