Historical Survey And Basic Experiences Of The Communist Party Of China Dealing With Contradictions Among The People Since The Reform And Opening Up (1978-2012)

At this stage, our country is under deeper reform and opening up. Under the socialist market economy, whether it is the economic system, social structure and political system, are all in transition stage. There are still contradictions among the people which not only performs in even more complex, demonstrated ways but also shows a partial antagonism. The causes and manifestations of contradictions among the people are more complex than before. Therefore, properly handling contradictions among the people is still the subject of national political life, which puts forward higher requirements of party awareness and how to handle contradictions among the people also.In this paper, the process of reform and opening up of Communist Party of China’s handling of contradictions among the people which lasts30years is divided into three stages for the study of history. In each stage, the history of the party practicing handling internal contradictions among the people has outstanding features and shortcomings. In the first stage of reform and opening up, the party handling contradictions among the people broke through the pure democracy, persuasion, and put more emphasis on democracy and the rule of law relying on methods correctly handle contradictions among the people, Comprehensive reform and opening period is the second stage, the party handling contradictions among the people overcame the " hard hand, a soft" phenomenon, and used a comprehensive variety of means to deal with the internal contradictions among the people to safeguard social stability and outstanding. In the third stage of building a moderately prosperous society period, the party handling contradictions among the people paid more attention to safeguarding the fundamental interests of the people, relied on system and the mechanism of action and actively explored a long-term mechanism to deal with the internal contradictions among the people, innovated methods of handling contradictions among the people. Through historical research, we conclude that a lot of valuable experience which has given us a profound revelation which has a very important significance for us to achieve a comprehensive well-off society in the grand goal under the new historical conditions.
