Physical competition has great influence in real life. However, the phenomenon of sportsevents piracy is very serious. This paper attempts to explore how to better legal protection ofthe broadcasting rights of sports events in this issue. This article is nearly25,000words and isdivided into five parts.The first part gives a brief introduction of Case CCTV International Inc. v. CenturyDragon Company on Information Network Transmission Right Infringement, which leads tothe theme of this paper, that is the broadcasting rights of physical competition.The second part mainly discusses the legal nature of the broadcasting rights of sportsevents. Firstly this part qualitatives the object of sports events broadcasting rights, that is theongoing sports events,which mainly explores the relationship between sports events and"work"; Later, the article focuses on discussing the legal nature of the broadcasting rightsof sports events. After the analysis of a large number of domestic and international views onthe legal nature of sports events broadcasting rights,the author clearly puts forward his pointof view, definiting special sports broadcasting rights as the rights of performers and thegeneral sports broadcasting rights as " class the rights of performers ".The third part is about the theoretical basis of the protection of the broadcasting rights ofsports events. This section gives interpretation of the deep-seated causes of legal protection ofsports events broadcasting rights from three aspects, that is the "input-output" economicphilosophy, the objective needs of the principle of fair and equitable value and thedevelopment of sports industry.The fourth part introduces the protection mode of the broadcasting rights of sports events.This section describes two protection mode of the broadcasting rights of sports events, namelythe contract protection mode and the copyright protection mode. This part also analyses thecurrent inadequacies of the two protection modes.The fifth part is about suggestions for improving the legal protection systems of sportsevents broadcasting rights. The author proposes several pieces of advice on how to improveour legal protection system of sports events broadcasting rights in this section.
