The Research Of Women’s Development Problem In Contemporary China

Marxist outlook on women can be scientifically summarized as following five aspects:the oppression of women is the product when human society develops into a certain period of history; emancipation of women is a natural measure of the social development; taking part in social activity is an important prerequisite for the emancipation and development of women; the emancipation and development of women is a quite long historical process;women play an important role in human civilization creation and social development. The development of Chinese women has gone through a quite long process from the ancient society, pre-modern society, and modern society to current society, which is also the struggle process of Chinese women fighting for their independence from the feudal bondage. From the Chinese women’s current situation, it can be seen that such four priorities of development fields have made great progress as the right to education, state of health, guarantee of rights and interests and participate in the management of state affairs.However, generally speaking, restrained by the development level of productivity in primary stage of socialism and the degree of social civilization, the development of Chinese women still faces many problems and challenges. The problem on family violence is starting to appear; women are serious lack of subject consciousness; there is a big gap between the maternal mortality rate and the UN Millennium Development Goals; despite repeated prohibitions, there is a significantly upward tendency of employment discrimination. The May4th Movement in1919started a new chapter for massive thoughts of women movement, thereafter Chinese women’s fights for independence and struggles of hold up half the sky have been actively carried out in all aspects of society. Even to this day, the Party and our coconut are constantly committed to the study of women emancipation and development. The emancipation and development of Chinese women is a comprehensive process, which is continuing nowadays.In this paper, it performed analysis on the causes of women’s issue in China from such four aspects as development resources, long period of feudal society, social reform and social security system. It put forward four solutions to tackle the problems facing the development of Chinese women. Four solutions include the establishment of legal environment to protecting women’s rights and interests, the support to cooperative education in poverty-stricken areas, and the achievement of gender main-streaming as well as the enhancement of self-discipline.
