Propaganda and ideological work which as a consistent fine tradition for thecommunist party of China in the course of Chinese socialist revolution,construction,reform and development, is the powerful guarantee to realize ofeconomic, political, cultural, social and ecology and so on various aspects of theconstruction. The communist party of China always put the propaganda andideological work for the extremely important position since its establishment, they hasalways explored the principle of propaganda and ideological work in practice, andgradually formed the Chinese characteristic system of propaganda and ideologicalwork. In this process, according to the historical background and characteristics of thetime, the party has groped and established different propaganda theories, principles,means and methods in different historical periods.In the new historical period, with the rapid development of the world multipolarization, economic globalization, cultural diversity and information technology,especially in the new media environment, the propaganda and ideological work of theparty is faced with many challenges, but also faced with hitherto unknownopportunities. The reasonable man changes depending on the time, the wiser adoptdifferent methods according to different things. How to plan according tocircumstances change, act and change the direction according to the development ofthe situation, which can help to create a new situation of ideological propaganda workhas become an important task of the party’s work.Based on combing the origin anddevelopment of propaganda and ideological work theory, the paper summarizedexperiences which accumulated by the Communist Party of China in long-timepropaganda and ideological work practice. In addition, there is a in-depth analysis forthe challenges and opportunities of propaganda and ideological work theory, whichbrought by the development of the economic globalization, information technology,social development and transformation. At last, the paper explore the strategies tocreate a new situation of ideological propaganda work from five aspects, which include the theoretical building, team building,propaganda mechanism innovation,network information mechanism, external publicity and so on.
