With the rapid development of a new trading pattern, the online commoditytrading, people have been greatly changed in lifestyles, our social market economyhas got increasing prosperity, while the new challenges have been brought toconsumer rights protection. More and more people prefer shopping online which isconvenient and free in space and time. At the same time, more attentions have beenpaid to the protection of their own legal rights in this new shopping form. Theincreasing network trading irregularities damage the consumer’s legal rights inknowing, security, fair trading, personal privacy and so on. Therefore, we shouldprotect the consumer’s right in network trading to create a fair competitiveenvironment, not only for the network consumers but also for the healthy and orderlydevelopment of network economy.At present, China has promulgated “the management of network transaction” and“the People’s Republic of China Consumer Protection Law”, specifically for theprotection of network consumer rights. Based on this, the paper which is started withthe specificity of network consumer rights protection, describes several typicalbehaviors against the interests of consumer in the online commodity trading, such asfalse advertising, fake and inferior goods selling, internet fraud, unfair competitionand so on. This paper analyses the problem of Chinese consumer rights protection inthe online commodity trading in order to find the underlying reasons, and then putsforward the suggestions and strategies to strengthen our network consumer rightsprotection, learning from the advance experiences of the developed countries andcombining with the domestic situation. First, speed up the process of legislation andimprove the relevant system; second, strengthen the supervision and management roleof government to servicing the public; third, gather all the social resources to promotethe network consumer right protection system in China with credit construction,technical support, industry self-regulation and consumer vigilance.
