Since the reform and opening of China, our country’s social economy hasachieved unprecedented development. At the same time, various social problems andcontradictions have emerged with the process of the social transformation. In order toachieve more effectively social governance, this not only needs the government takemeasures to control and reduce social problems, but also requires the non-profitorganizations to take an active part in the proceedings. Among the NPOs, a host ofreligious non-profit organizations are entering into society through social servicessuch as disaster relieve, community services, volunteer services andenvironmental protection.By virtue of these services, the religious non-profitorganizations have increase and reproduce a great deal of social capital, which makesthese special organizations obtaining increasing attention.Through a case study of Buddhist charity foundation in H province how topromote trust and public participation between residents by charity and social services,this paper analyses the reproduction mechanism of social capital operated by thereligious non-profit organizations.Firstly, this article briefly explore the religious non-profit organizations how toincrease social capital by contrast among the secular and religious non-profitorganizations. Then, as the main body of this article, the paper explores thereproduction of social capital of the religious non-profit organizations. The analysis isdivided into three dimensions:1.Strategy (religious identity and social participation)2.Power (religious charity culture)3.Guaranty (the legitimacy mechanism)Through these analyses, the reproduction of social capital of Buddhist CharityFoundation in H province is a double reproduction based on the mechanism ofreligious strengthening and the social demand. This "double reproduction" isimplemented through religious identity and social participation. As the power of the reproduction, religious charity culture is construct by reciprocal alms chain. And thelegitimacy mechanism from government and society guarantee the reproduction ofsocial capital. At last, this paper discusses the obstacles of the reproduction of socialcapital about religious non-profit organizations, and explore how to realize the way ofthe reproduction.
