The Study Of The Function Of Chinese Township (Subdistrict) Labor Union In Ideological And Political Education

At present, China is in the new development stage of comprehensively constructinga well-off society and accelerating socialist modernization. In the process of reformand market economy development, social contradictions like the lack of socialsecurity, the increase of employment pressure, and the intensified trend of incomegaps widening are increasingly highlighted. Workers feel less secure in productionand life. Cases that workers’ legitimate rights and interests have been injured arecommon. The increase of social instability factors has caused workers many newproblems and confusions ideologically. Therefore, it is more important and urgent togive full play to the role of labor union in promoting reform and development and inmaintaining stability. Also it is more important and urgent to arm workers’ brains,cohere workers’ wills, straighten out workers’ emotions and stimulate workers’winning confidence with Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and the theorysystem of socialism with Chinese characteristics in order to overcome difficulties andrisks together, ensure the smooth development of the socialism with Chinesecharacteristics, and create workers’ own happy life and bright future with creativework.The Township (Subdistrict) Labor Union is an important dual function organization,which is both local labor union and grass-roots labor union. It is objectively requiredto strengthen the management of grass-roots labor unions in the area, give full play tothe role of labor union organizations, practically perform its ideological and politicaleducation function, and radically safeguard the legitimate rights and interests ofworkers. Only when workers have higher ideological and political qualities and highercultural and technological qualities, can they develop their initiative and creativitybetter, and protect their own rights and interests better.
