The Combination Of Traditional Culture And Modern Culture On Lipo People Of The Yi Nationality

Yi nationality is an important part of Chinese nation. Based on the unique life background of geographical environment, language communication, farming system and spiritual belief, Lipo people of the Yi nationality had created their own traditional culture in their long history. However, cultural change has become a very common phenomenon nowadays, as the last fort of national minority villages, traditional culture has embedded into the frame of contemporary society on modernization process consciously or unconsciously, showing the combination trend of traditional culture and modern culture.Taking Song zi yuan village (Tanhua, Dayao county, Yi Autonomous Prefeture of Chuxiong, Yunnan province) as an example, Lipo people of the Yi nationality accomplished the process of separation, subtenancy, assembly and cultural construction. This thesis consists of six part, we discuss the practice approach of traditional culture under modernization background from the aspecet of interaction and insertion through the combination of traditional culture and modern culture. The first part is introduction, mainly introduced the present research situation of this topic, including the relationship of traditional culture and modernization and culture change of Lipo people of the Yi nationality; the second part consists of the fieldwork situation and the present content of traditional culture; the third part is mainly introduced how the core cultural elements affect local people’s cognition and practice under their historical process; The fourth part describes the cultural situation of Song Zi Yuan village under the social change background; The fifth part is the core content, we discuss the practice approach of combination of traditional elements and modern elements by local people, cultural elite and government; The sixth part is the reflective discussion and summary from the perspective of local people in Song zi yuan village.Through the full text, the ethnic minority villages had been demonstrate that their traditional culture was fading and taking a new lease of life in other ways. Culture is not a freedom style at a high levels, more like a reservior, it is composed of individual life experience through induction and summary of practice in dwelling environment, gradually sublimated into ethnic group common experience with environment interaction. When society changes occurred in the overall environment, multi-culture communicated and interacted, this experience will follow people into new environment and provide reference. When people continue to produce new practice, blending into the inherent culture system ulteriorly, the intrinsic culture and modern culture have a collision, they combined new integration to produce new multi-cultural system by ethnic rationality at the same time of comparison, which will account for the constant cultural development.
