Liking River are well-known all over the world, but the long culture there is known by few people. At the Liking river basin, the ecological environments, the material lives of the ethnic groups and their mental world contain rich and colorful resources, which can be applied to ecological study, aesthetic study, tourist study, folklore study, anthropologic study and so on. Through scientific study the resources can be further exploited and used. But all those depend on making systematic and regular field-works. So the ancient Fully town, which stands at the side of Liking River, can be considered as a typical case of the study on this river basin. The investigations of Fully town have two other purposes. And at the end of the twentieth century Fully town has been caught in a worldwide tourist tide, then becomes a famous scenic spot. The second, from Fully town' s tourism we can examine some internal relations of tourist operation. The first chapter describes the Fully town at anthropologic point, including the history, the topography, the river, the climate, the traffic, the area, and the population. Those are the bases of the study on Fully town' s culture. The second chapter explores Fully town' s economic characteristics, patterns of lives, and particular material folklore. Those show people' s life-circumstances. The third chapter discusses social organizations. Family, the association of old men, the village's committee and the residents' committee are the main social organizations. The organization of patriarchal clan has vanished. The fourth chapter discusses people's mental world. In this part, there are four aspects: festivals, entertainments, believes, and taboos. Those reflect people's common spirits. The fifth chapter discusses Fully town's tourist resources and tourism. There are plentiful natural tourist resources and cultural tourist resources at the town. And it becomes one of the famous scenic spots of Yangshuo County. Its tourism was very boomy at the end of the twentieth century, but now its tourism is depressed. Liking River. Moreover, the tourism has made impulsive force at the town' s traditionalculture. In the process of modernization and globalization, Fully town's traditional culture shows new trend: the interaction of the "folksy" and the "official" , the coming together of the "traditional" and the "modern" , and the combination of the "old" and the "new" .
