Comparison Research Of Engles And Kojin Karatani’s Thoughts Of Origin Of The State

The emergence and development of the state has experienced thousands of years history in human society."Origin of the state" has also been associated with the history of human thought processes which are explored and answered by different thinkers. The problem of origin of the state is not only the basic problems of the state theory, but also it is the basis of Marx’s state theory. Engels and Kojin Karatani are all Marxism thinkers which have their own unique insights in the problem of origin of the state. This thesis takes the historical materialism as the basic point and analyzes Engels,Kojin Karatani’s thought of origin of the state respectively,then compare them at last.By comparing Engels and Kojin Karatani’s thought of origin of the state, we can see the similarities between Engels and Kojin Karatani’s thoughts of origin of the state in which they study Marx’s theory of origin of the state as the foundation which stand on the perspective of historical materialism. Engels inherited and developed Marx’s theory of "mode of production", based on materialist conception of history, analyzed origin of the state scientifically.Marx further perfected Marxism thought of origin of the state in his Anthropology Notes. Although Kojin Karatani study the problem of origin of the state from his unique "exchange perspective " theory, he still insisted the basic method of historical materialism,and absorbed the contemporary theory achievements.The differences betweenKojin Karatani and Engels ’s thought of origin of the state were that Kojin Karatani lives in the specific context of contemporary world and widely absorbs various sources of perspective and philosophy achievements.His "exchange perspective" theory gives Marxism state theory explaination and supplement which exceed the contemporary spirit. He put forward his own unique views in the community conflict, religion, bureaucracy, agriculture and other related problems of origin of the state.Therefore, Kojin Karatani developed and deepened Engels’s theory of origin of the state based on the position of historical materialism. This thesis will compare and study two thinkers’ different perspectives and research methods to confirm historical materialism scientifically, rationality and keep pace with the times.It provides reference in the contemporary context to rethink "the issue of origin of the state".
