A Study On The Rationality Of Kojin Karatani's Reinterpretation Of Capital From The Exchange Dimension

As one of the most important representatives of Japanese Left-wing critical Theoris,Kojin Karatani advocates the idea of reconstructing the world history through Modes of Exchange Theory and restoring the "critical" power of Marx's theory.He has attracted wide attention from the academic community because of his critical thinking and the uniqueness of Modes of Exchange Theory.He makes an in-depth observation of some unnoticed and discovered knowledge in "Das Kapital" from the economic perspective of Exchanging Method,which provides the "exchange" direction of revealing the limitations of the Capital Logic Thinking.As far as Kojin Karatani's concerned,"Das Kapital" just focuses on the capitalist economy,while the broad sense of Exchange dimensions can undertake a deep analysis of precapitalistic ages and make up for the deficiency of Marx historical materialism.In the face of the capitalist society claimed by Marx,Kojin Karatani uses the value morphology to replace the residual value in "Das Kapital",which aims to explain the inconsistency between the real development level of various countries and their level in "Das Kapital",so the explanation given by Modes of Exchange Theory has certain advantage in analyzing the cause of the failure of the real development.Kojin Karatani believes that Modes of Exchange Theory pays more attention on the individual freedom in communism,seeks the new revolutionary subject and the new possibility path,and eventually realizes the goal of surpassing the capital.In general,the research work of Kojin Karatani provides a political and philosophical perspective to explore Capital,ensures the integrity of capital history,highlights individual freedom,and helps to explain the contemporary significance of social change.However,we have to point out the limitation of Kojin Karatani,which is that his thoughts attach much importance of Exchange Mode but despise ownership.His theory does not solve the public's doubts about the capital problem.Kojin Karatani could not effectively explain the inevitable antagonistic contradictions of capitalism as he fails to tough the reform of the system of ownership.Because he doesn't make his point from the elimination of private ownership system,make light of labor time and leads to the distortion of labor value,misunderstands the residual value theory,and only makes abstract analysis on the status of the workers.His theoretical foundation is impractical and lack of reality and support,and cannot reach the high standard of Marx's critical principle.It is better to say that Kojin Karatani has revolutionarily weakened the critical force of "Das Kapital" rather than say he has advanced the scientific nature of "Das Kapital".Therefore,the reasonableness of the new interpretation of the "Das Kapital"needs to be examined in detail.
