People-oriental thought is the precious historic heritage in the 5000-year traditional culture in China. Mao Zedong persisted in taking Marxism material conception of history to reasonably absorb and creatively use the people-oriental thought----the essence of Chinese excellent traditional culture to propose the important principles of persisting in seeking truth from facts, persisting in following the mass line, and persisting in serving the people wholeheartedly in the practice of Chinese reform and construction and to shape the new people-oriental thought with its own characteristics whose core is mass viewpoint, mass routine, and mass benefit.Mao Zedong’s people-oriental thought has deep historic and cultural root, which fully reflects Marxism material conception of history. The thought developed and shaped in the different historic periods of revolution and construction in China, which has rich thought content and scientific theoretical feature. Mao Zedong’s people-oriental thought is inherited and developed in new historic period. This thought leads us to persist in taking “the interests of the most people” as the radical starting point to coordinate the interests of all classes; to reform by realizing the goal of “the people being in power”; to change party’s leadership style and government’s functions by serving the people wholeheartedly in the new historic period of reform and opening up, and socialist modernization; the thought leads us to persist in the mass routine; to keep the blood and flesh connection between party and people to mobilize people’s enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity and to realize the dream of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation.
