In the transformation of the old city demolition, how to avoid damaging the interests of the masses and response to the country initiates “harmoniousand sunny demolition”, is also a proposition that all local government in our country have to face.In 2012, CCTV launched the "Cao Lane demolition Diary" series, the second season of which was launched in the November of 2013. This program shows the transformationof the north of Chengdu to the public, and make it become the topic of the livelihood in the whole country. It provides a new perspective either from the good side or the inadequate side. The typicalnessof the Cao Lane autonomy demolition, lies in that Chengdu Jinniu government will resolutely uphold the interests and satisfaction of the people as the starting point and end point. By bringing together the grassroots governance energy and guiding the people to elect the 13 prestigious representatives from the old neighborhood, it created a platform called " Residents’ AutonomicReform Committee "(referred to as "Autonomic Commission "), to facilitate the people expresstheirdemands. The roles of the platform "Autonomic Commission " are as follows:firstly, itis responsible for coordinating the relationship between the parties within the residents of the complex between interest groups, secondly, it expresses on behalf of the reasonable demands of residents and businesses to the government, thirdly,it signsthe agreement with the autonomous reconstruction company project on behalf of the residents. Unlike the previous government imposed relocation decisions or corporate relocation, demolition of the old city or analog demolition, the renovation, reconstruction, avocation, supervision of this autonomy transformation and the planning after the transformation are all implemented by all relocated residents. In this way, it effectively solves the "No.1 problem in the world"---the mass demolition. It embodies three advantages: First, it reduces the government’s manpower and material resources owing tothe coordination and communication of theAutonomic Commission. Second, it realizes the aspirations of the grassroots to get involved in the procedure. Third,it integrates resources and connects the cadres withthe masses, therefore makes the government work easier. Undoubtedly, it is a positive and demonstrative exploration and practice of the "Chinese-style demolition" in the rapid urbanization process. What’s more, it has set a good example for the local governments in the shantytowns for demolition work. This paper studiesthe cases in the autonomy demolition by Cao Lane andthoroughly analyzes the process and experience in the "Residents’ AutonomicReform Committee"(referred to as "Autonomic Commission"), in order to provide some reference and inspiration transformation of the old model of demolition work.
