It is surprising that adulteration of food and drug is not rarely seen in market of Late 19th and early 20th century. The health and safety of the American people were seriously threatened. Meanwhile, the prevalence of adulterated food and drugs brings harm to consumers and Food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the credibility of the US government. As dissatisfaction of public is increasing with the status of domestic food and drug, American women and women’s organizations launch an attack on issues of food and medicines in the first place. They investigated cases of adulteration of food and drugs and its harm through their own efforts, then Urged Congress to pass the Food and Drug Act. After that, the "muckraker" in "Muckraking movement" began to disclose the details of adulteration and hazards of drug and food, so that set off a nationwide climax for Food and Drug reform. At last, President Roosevelt and Willie Harvey had played a key role in the introduction of Food and Drug Act. The introduction of "Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906" was driven by these forces. Meanwhile their arduous efforts and struggles also were seen in federal legislation and regulation of food and drugs.US Congress passed the "Pure Food and Drug Act "in June 30,1906, and this act turned on the time of supervision and management of American food and medicines.
