The theoretical concern of the political violence is the normative appeal of political philosophy, as well as the inherent requirement of the true and perfect political philosophy.Marx and Arendt are the representatives among the thinkers who pay close attention to political violence,and their attentions have Special relevances. Arendt’s Interpretation and research of Marx’s thought has become an important connection between their political violence view and their political philosophy, it also become an important starting point for this comparative study. This paper sorts out the historical background, ideological origins and main contents of the two thinker’s violent thoughts construction.Then it compare the similarity of their political violence view from the appearing language environment and the essence of political violence.Meanwhile,it compare the difference of their violence view from the function of violence,the relationship between violence and power and the dual character of words.Both the thoughts of Marx and Arendt reflect the rebellion to the tradition of western philosophy.They asked to understand political activities as the historical existence in the real life,not from the philosophy experience.All above make their violence view have the similar appearance perspective. Simultaneously,The nature of violence are peeled from purpose and understood to exist instrumental. However, Their concepts of violence is also very different due to the different theories aspirations and historical background. In the function of violence, Marx affirmed the violence as the historical thrust based on the specific historical context, While Arendt criticism the violence from "false political" position. In the relationship between violence and power, Arendt stressed the difference between the two, and Marx focus on the link. In the treatment of words, Arendt’s thoughts showed some idealism, it did not see the language violence; while Marx’s is based on the hypocrisy of bourgeois and points out the limits of the words. In addition, Arendt’s evaluation and interpretation of Marx’s violence view contain some desirable values, as well as misinterprets and misreadings. A comparative study of the two thinkers’ political violence view is also a show of the nature and political dimension of violence. It has great instructive significance for reflections on the current domestic and international political violence problems of different degrees and types.
