It is very important for protecting the rightful rights and interests of financial consumers to establish and improve financial consumption disputes settlement mechanism. Therefore, many developed countries establish organizations, which are independence and authority that deal with controversial issues between consumers and financial organizations. Our country has been set up protecting departments, which have the common main duty that is safeguarding financial consumers’rightful rights and interests. Meanwhile, our supervision agencies value the protecting of financial consumers. However, facing increasingly complicated and professional financial products and services, financial consumers who do not have enough resources or economy strength, could not be compared with financial organizations. When disputes appeared, because of lacking efficient and convenient ways of resolution, financial consumers’rightful rights and interests are difficult to get effective help. Consequently, it is useful for us to establish perfect financial consumption disputes resolution mechanism. It is not only help consumers to solve problems of their complaints, but also has important practical meaning to safeguard financial consumers.Credit card consumption is an important content of the financial consumption. Therefore, credit card consumption disputes has universality and representative. Based on the research of the credit card consumption disputes resolution mechanism, which could provide reference for perfecting our financial consumption disputes resolution mechanism. The paper uses the method of empirical analysis, comparative analysis, literature analysis and others. By giving questionnaires, visiting investigation and analyzing relevant literature, datum, combing with experience of developed countries, the author sums up the main deficiencies of the credit card consumption disputes resolution mechanism, and puts forward suggestions to establish and improve credit card consumption disputes settlement mechanism.The paper comprises of three parts except for introduction and conclusion.The first part talks about survey general situation result of credit card disputes, containing survey scope, object, method, content and detailed and exact analysis of the survey result. By analyzing credit card application forms, result of questionnaires and relevant datum of credit card consumption disputes, it can be seen that credit card consumption disputes and its solution exist some features. Such as credit card disputes increase; the more economic developed areas, the more credit card disputes; consumers lack awareness of self-protection; financial institutions ignore settlement of controversial issues; the solutions are lack of diversity.The second part analyses the major deficiencies of the credit card consumption disputes resolution. By combing with above the results of survey and our present relevant laws, the author discovers some defects of existing credit card consumption disputes settlement mechanism, such as lack laws which pay more attention to safeguard financial consumers’rights and interests; imperfect internal complaints handling mechanism; consumers’ choice of disputes solutions is limited; solutions lack order; consumers are unknown about financial knowledge.The last part using international experience for reference, the author puts forward some specific suggestions to improve credit card consumption disputes resolution mechanism, including formulate the purpose of protecting financial consumers’law; improve and perfect internal treatment of disputes mechanism; protect consumers’choice of the ways of disputes resolution; financial organization internal disputes resolution procedure take precedence over other procedures; improve the level of financial knowledge of consumers.
