This modification was another major improvement on criminal procedure system after the modification of the criminal procedure law in 1996, and is also an important improvement on China’s socialist legal system since its establishment.This amendment of the criminal procedure law,summing up the experience, taking views and suggestions from different aspects, has been strengthened and innovated in fighting against crime and protecting human rights.Comparing with the previous criminal procedural law, china’s criminal witness protection system has made great progress. Comparing with the extraterritorial criminal witness protection system, there are still some gaps. Because of fearing of retaliation and many other factors, In China, there the rate of criminal witness certificate is very low, moreover, the rate of testifying at court is more lower.How is the gas narrowed and the system of criminal witness protection improved in order that our witness can feel free to testify?Starting from the current situation of the system of criminal witness protection, comparing with advanced systems of witness protection abroad and combing with the basic conditions of the primary stage of socialism in china, the thesis put forward concrete ideas about the improvement on the system of criminal witness protection.
