With the increasingly severe employment situation, university students’ employment situation is not optimistic, private university students’ employment situation is even less optimistic. Scholars have started researching the graduates’ employment competitiveness; however, their researches focus more on aspects of the model construction of employment competitiveness, evaluation system, career guidance, etc, research that is carried out from the perspective of non-intellectual factors is almost blank. The strategic deployment of vigorously promoting the development of China’s cultural industry was advocated in the Sixth Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, which has put forward new requirements for the development of majors of Cultural Industry Management and Tourism Management in most universities. Setting modern service management majors like Cultural Industry Management majors and Tourism Management majors in private universities as research targets, from the perspective of raising college students’ competitiveness, the thesis explores the non-intellectual factors that affect the employment competitiveness and is of typical significance.Drawing on previous relevant researches and based on employment, competitiveness theory and non-intellectual factors, the research is carried out in this thesis through SEM methods. First of all, aiming at the career characteristics of Cultural Industry Management and Tourism Management majors in private universities, based on the SCANS standard from the U.S.A, the thesis advocates the idea that the employment competitiveness of Cultural Industry Management and Tourism Management majors consists of "4 Abilities" after seeking views from relevant employers and experts. Second, this thesis analyzes the basic non-intellectual factors that affect employment competitiveness and after seeking views from experts on psychology, the thesis brings forth the non-intellectual factors construction system that affects employment competitiveness of students majoring in Cultural Industry Management and Tourism Management. Third, based on software AMOS18.0 and through using the method of structural equation model to comprehensively analyze the non-intellectual factors and employment competitiveness of the second and third level, the thesis discovers that the association between the basic non-intellectual factors and employment competitiveness is fairly high while the contribution of specific descriptive elements is relatively little. On this basis, the thesis further analyzes the effect that the basic non-intellectual factors as well as descriptive elements have on employment competitiveness; also, the thesis puts forward the corresponding strategies of cultivating these non-intellectual factors.Research results indicate:first, the construction of the "4 Abilities" in employment competitiveness is of rationality and validity; second, the three levels non-intellectual factors construction system is of direction and rationality; third, the contribution of non-intellectual factors to employment competitiveness varies, also the descriptive elements cannot simply affect the "4 Abilities"; fourth, non-intellectual factors can only comprehensively affect the raise of employment competitiveness. On this basis, the thesis puts forward the corresponding strategies of cultivating these non-intellectual factors that affect employment competitiveness. The innovation in the thesis lies in the following two aspects:on the one hand, from the perspective of non-intellectual factors, the thesis researches ways of raising employment competitiveness, puts forward the employment competitiveness structure suitable for career characteristics of Cultural Industry Management and Tourism Management majors, and also comes up with the non-intellectual factors system affecting employment competitiveness; On the other hand, applying the research method of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the thesis identifies the contribution of the non-intelligence factors to the employment competitiveness, and filters out core factors that affect employment competitiveness.
