The Evaluation And Development Of The Self-cognition Test

Cognitive Comprehensive Test is one of the Psycho-physiological Detection of Deception(PDD) methods, which based on three different kind of tests of Self-cognition Test, Guilty Knowledge Cognition Test and Immediate Mental State Test,to detect whether the suspects have a kind of cognition of the searching crime in mind.After applied in nearly a thousand difficult crime cases test,Cognitive Comprehensive Test has achieved a good test validity and social effect.As one of the tests of the Cognitive Comprehensive Test,Self-cognition Test has many advantages,such as extend the test content efficacious,rule out innocent suspects quickly,and simply compiled etc.,is an important development and improvement direction of the PDD methods.However,the current understanding and awareness of the Self-cognition Test mostly come from the theoretical study and the practical experience,the research results and conclusions have certain subjectivity,lack of the data support from laboratory studies.Therefore, the current research employed the Self-cognition Test in laboratory situations, try to study the galvanic skin reactions of different roles of subjects in various types of Self-cognition test questions respectively based on mock-crime paradigm,verify the detection accuracy of the Self-cognition Test,try to explore the psychological mechanism of the Self-cognition Test,in order to select the most valid Self-cognition Test questions,further improve the compiling system and enhance the validity and scientific of the Cognitive Comprehensive Test.Experiment 1 tested the Self-cognition Test questions which commonly used in the real cases with the questions which need to be developed,totally 11 series,to crime groups and innocent groups subjects,investigated the galvanic skin response of the two groups subjects,so as to filter out the most valid Self-cognition Test questions.The second experiment based on the experiment 1,used the filtered questions to test informed innocent subjects, to verify the validity of the Self-cognition Test.The conclusions are as follows:1.Subjects’ information of gender, age, home province, city, district, belonged college,school,major and other autobiographical information can be used as an valid Self-cognition test content.2.Self-cognition Test could classify different types of participants with high accuracy, the innocent identification accuracy was 100%,accurate identification of the criminal was 93.3%, and those found innocent informed accuracy rate was 76.7%.3.Such autobiographical information like gender which can be compiled only questions use ABBA Compiling design can effectively eliminate the subjects’ strong galvanic skin response to the first question(first question effect), to ensure the validity of the Self-cognition Test.
