Footprint examination technology is an important part of modern criminal technical field, since the footprint have directivity and stability, through deeply analyzing and testing of footprint, it can indicate the direction for the investigation of cases, narrow the scope and as an important evidence for identified the suspect. Therefore, it has important significance for the research of the footprint analysis and inspection technology. The computer technology is highly developed today, and the computer plays an increasingly important role in automatic control analysis, image processing and data management. Therefore, developed a feasible footprint inspection system based on computer technology has great practical significance.In this paper, we will study the concept, discovery and extraction of footprint and quantitative test method. Integrated the currently mature several footprint quantitative testing method, cluster footprint:u test method, range test method, membership test method,3D footprints:variable difference test method, using computer software technology combined with related algorithms, based on Lab VIEW platform developed a cluster and 3D footprint analysis testing system. Image acquisition, feature extraction, inspection and database storage of the footprint, and finally gives the relevant identification report, to achieve quantitative and automated of footprint analysis and testing. Through theoretical research and practical experiment, the practicability and accuracy of the system is verified by the results.
