A Research About Revenge Killing Of Tang And Song Dynasties

The revenge, seriously influences the behavior of the social order, was prohibited by law. Anyway, revenge is admired by Confucianism.The conflict between Confucian classics and law, is especially apparent in revenge.This paper includes three aspects: the revenge’s ideological concept, the law in tang and song dynasties, and specific cases of tang and song dynasties.In the body of the first chapter, I examine the scholars’ minds under the influence of the tang and song dynasties. This part is divided into four parts: The honor of revenge; The limitation on the revenge; Realistic reflection on the revenge; About contradiction between the monarch and father.In the second chapter, I do some summary and analysis of tang and song dynasties’ law. This part mainly includes three rules.In next two chapters, I do some discussion of the tang and song dynasties’ revenge killing cases. And it can be divided into three stages. Tang dynasty can be divided into: Forgive stage; Put to death by law; Between death and forgive. Song dynasty can be divided into: Forgive period; Between the law and forgive period; The forgive period.After all, I summarize the the judicial of revenge killing cases.
