The Sixteenth World Basketball Championships Attack Ability Of The Chinese Men’s Basketball Team

In the 2010 FIBA world championships, Chinese men’s basketball team won 1 game, beating Puerto Rico, lost 4 in the group stage, but according to the advantage on detailed scores, and was ironically sent to reach the elimination round by Cote d’Ivoire, who beat Puerto Rico. In the next round, Chinese men’s basketball team lost to LiTaoWanDui with the disadvantage of 11 points. In the championship, Chinese men’s basketball team has obvious gap with the opponents either on the offensive or defensive performance. This paper mainly analyzes the offensive capability of China men’s basketball team in the 16th world championships, deeply analyzes the relevant index, tries to find the team’s main problems in offense, the advantages also included. The purpose is to strengthen the training, and improve the overall offensive capability.By means of the methods of documentation, video observation, logic analysis, mathematical statistics research methods, this paper focuses on the Chinese basketball overall offensive capability, the offensive capability on each position in the 16th FIBA world championships, tries to analyze the factors which affects the offensive capability. According to the analysis, the conclusions are as followed:1. In the championship, Chinese basketball team exposes the disadvantage in scoring ability. The shot times and goal percentage of 2-point shot are both lower than the opponents; the shot times of 3-point shot is lower, but the goal percentage is higher; the freethrow times and percentage are both higher, which exhibits our advantage.2. The main reason for the disadvantage of shot times is that we have great gap with our opponents in assists, steal, turnovers and offence rebounds. Our performance in the offence rebounds is much worse, which affects the times and scores of second attack.3. Due to the absence of Yao Ming, the previous Centre strategy transferred to Forward strategy by Yi Jianlian. According to the comparison of each position, the guard is the most obvious drawback, who has comprehensive disadvantage with the opponent.4. The bench players of our team played a very minor role in the championship, who didn’t provide the key players sufficient support. The capabilities of the bench players were much lower than the key players, which was also one of reasons for our defeat. We should strengthen their capability, narrow the gap with key players, in order to play a full role of the bench players.5. Physical factors is still the main gap between Chinese men’s basketball team and European and American teams. Physical factors may lead to a series of problems, including the decrease of the quality of defense and offence and the increase of turnovers in the last two quarters. Physical factors may also lead to the bad performance on the decisive moment and the instability of offence. In addition, we also have certain gap in skills, which affect our offence quality.To sum up, in the sixteenth FIBA world championships, the performance of Chinese men’s basketball team is generally lower than the top teams of the world. We should analyze the existing problems carefully and earnestly, and strengthen the specific training in daily practice, so as to improve our overall offensive capability, reduce turnovers, have top performance in international games, and become one of the top teams in the world.
