The application of computer in the field of education has significant value.Especially,the use of multimedia technology has become one of importantauxiliary means in the subject education. Through the study of computerassisted instruction(CAI), this paper analyzes the current animationcourseware, which can be applied in middle school chemistry teaching.The study includes the characteristics, advantages, the state of the arts,application status and development trend. Development of animationcourseware has certain significance, principles and procedures. On the basis offully understanding of these,the author made a chemical animation coursewaresystem and established an integrable ware library.The author hopes to enrich the teaching resources and auxiliary teachingprocess which fulfills the objective of the curriculum reform.Another purposeis to provide innovative skills and practical material for developers.High schools in Guiyang are using elective material that is of the people’seducation press version. Based on the foundation of experimental content inthese books, The author spent nearly two years making a set of middle schoolchemistry courseware system by using Macromedia Flash8as thedevelopment facility. The as-prepared system consists of55independent democoursewares. Each courseware contains four sections, namely,"principle","experiment","note" and "exercise". In the experimental part, coursewareendows chemistry experiment more visualization from the visual and auditorylevels due to novel design containing vivid animation, reasonable controlbutton, abundant chemical instruments, color and so on. This paper discussesthe key elements in the process of developing Flash courseware, such asteaching design, script planning, material collection, page beautification,demonstration control, animation, integrable ware library formation, etc, leading to summaries of some practical experience and methods. Thecourseware can be played directly through Windows interface.Furthermore,the convenience and utility of courseware are able to have a goodauxiliary effect on the high school chemistry teaching.There were16high schools in Guiyang having tested the coursewaresystem and the trial and feedback of chemistry teacher were collected. Teacherparticipants agreed that this set of courseware is excellent, which can assistteaching effectively.At the meantime,these teachers provided a variety ofvaluable comments and suggestions.In addition, production of thought,principles, methods and inspiration in this paper can provide reference forsome teachers.
